Modern, good quality, black plastic body with metal spring loaded openers inside and out in a range of colours.

The set is a complete unit, suitable for both solid and hollow doors, and including integral brush draught seal and watertight fixing grommet to ensure that you get a perfect seal straight from the box. Fixings are included.

Suitable to fit any modern external or internal door, normally 12" wide some of the models come in a 10" size as well. Generally, the 12" fits holes between 260mm and 300m long. The 10" option fits holes between 225mm and 260mm long. However there are variations in the exact external and internal dimensions for the different models, so check out the separate pages for exact measurements, or get all the stats together on my Measurements and Statistics page.

Generally fit doors with thicknesses between 36mm and 68mm, but if you have a door which is unusually thick, or thinner than 36mm please read my fitting instructions page for extra notes. Note that these are also known as "Letterplates", and perhaps also Mailboxes, or Postboxes (just to help the search engines find my site).

Most of you won't mind, but all the models are fire rated for at least 30 minutes. It adds safety to your home, and its a sign of the quality of manufacture and materials. Contact me if you need an intumescent liner.

For the amateurs out there, the reason there are two is that one goes inside and one outside. They connect to each other to make sure nothing can fall inside the door (UPVc doors are hollow) and creates a place for weather seals etc. This design allows them to be used on any door with a suitable letterbox slot.
