All the prices on the site assume British Pounds. Carriage prices apply across all of mainland England, most of Wales, and most of Sotland. However Northern and Western Scotland, and the Scottish Highlands, are usually more expensive. There are likely to be postage surcharges if you live out of our usual delivery areas. If you are in doubt please contact me for a quote. If there is a postage surcharge we will advise you before dispatch and you can choose to pay the extra or cancel your order for a refund.
If you are paying in a different currency check with me concerning the exchange rate I can offer. There is no surcharge.
I do change the prices of items listed from time to time, but am flexible about pricing over the few days following an increase, so you are safe taking the prices on the site as accurate and current.
How to pay:
I am planning on adding a shopping basket and taking credit cards directly on this website, but for now you have three alternatives available...
Some of my sales are through Ebay. But this is a disadvantage for me (because I pay fees) and for you (because you have to bid against others, wait for the end of the auction, and can't get larger quantities). However, Ebay offers security, and allows you to compare suppliers, so feel free to visit my items currently for sale and bid any time.
If you have a PayPal account you can make a payment by clicking on the "Buy now" buttons on the various pages. The system will inform me of your order, name and address, and the product you have selected. You will have to enter the correct value for the number of items you want, and might decide to enter extra text if you wish. Alternatively you can send money by clicking on the button below, and entering text to describe your order. Paypal also offer some security to you as a buyer.
Alternatively, if you email me with an order you want to place, I can send a PayPal Money Request, which comes to you as an email which you can use to make a PayPal payment.
3. Personal cheque
You can send cheques to me at Bits4Doors, 29 Dene Garth, Ovingham, Northumberland NE42 6AP. Please make cheques payable to Bits4Doors.
We normally send items as cheaply as we can, so that means Royal Mail Second Class for most small items, Royal Mail Standard Parcels some items. and our Carriers for orders with large or heavy items. Carriers call and pick up every day, and deliver next day, so they are fast and effective. Goods sent by carrier normally need a phone number and need to be signed for. Everything is sent as cheaply as possible, but we are quite happy to send smaller items by faster methods if you ask us to. Usually this will cost a little bit extra.
We are happy to ship overseas by carrier. Surface mail is cheaper but can take a lot longer, so we will email you with the two prices and expected delivery times to let you decide.
We always keep proofs of posting and for high value orders we obtain a proof of delivery, which means you have to be in to sign for the item when it arrives. It helps if you give us your telephone number which we can supply to the carrier in case they can't find the place.
We generally dispatch on the next working day after payment has been received. If you pay by paypal this is usually immediate, or if you pay by cheque this will be when the cheque clears. Paypal support a feature called an eCheque, which also takes a week or more to clear. Sorry, but we always wait for eCheques to clear.
We almost never run out of stock, and always show a status of "Low stock" or "Out of stock" if stocks are low. However, if we are out of stock on an item on your order we will contact you and offer you either a full refund, an alternative product, or a delivery date we think we can achieve. We never send alternatives without asking you first. You may decide to cancel the whole order if any of the items on it have a long delivery time.
Your happiness with the product, in every respect, is our purpose in life. Since we trade on Ebay you can see that we have very very few customers who are unsatisfied. However, if you do decide you want to return products which are the wrong size, are faulty, or are not right for whatever reason, we are happy to give a full refund or send replacement items. If we have supplied faulty or incorrect goods to you we will cover the extra postage costs, otherwise you will have to pay the cost of posting the item back to us.
You have the right to cancel your order for a full refund at any time up to the time of dispatch. Once you have received the goods you have 14 days in which to change your mind and send the goods back to us. Once you have notified us that you intend to return the goods you have a further 14 days to get them back to us. That gives you a total of 28 days altogether, so you dont need to rush.
There are a couple of provisos. We don't mind if the packaging is damaged but we may reduce your refund if the item has been damaged (again, unless we are at fault). We will chase the carrier when items are lost in the post. Almost everything turns up somewhere, but when items can't be found we can usually make a claim and everyone gets reimbursed in the end. Lost items are very rare. We won't charge a handling fee if the goods are returned promptly, but we may do so if the item was not faulty and you have kept it for more than 28 days after receipt.

Bits4Doors currently do not send out bulk email to its customers or contacts for any reason. If at any time in the future we decide to offer a Newsletter it will be strictly sent to those who ask for it, rather than as bulk mail.
We do not give out any details concerning our contacts or customers to a third party other than to Carriers when goods are being delivered. Our Carriers undertake not to disclose any of the details to any other third party. It is possible that we might be legally required to disclose details to a law enforcement agency, but to date this has never happened.
When buying goods or services over the internet you are entering a legally binding contract. This contract is equally binding on both parties, so please be sure that you know what you are buying when you place your order.
